Amy Karol is hosting another apron event over at her apron enthusiast blog called Tie One On. Amy's theme this Winter is Peppermint Candy.
Hey - all of the apron entries are up - you can find them here.
We are Project Runway junkies, so for those of you who watched Season 6 on Lifetime, you will remember the beautiful necklines Christopher Straub created. I was very inspired by the ruffled neck of his gown on Episode 6. To see Christopher Straub's inspirational gown click here.
This pink satin brocade has been pulling at me for a while, it looks so much like Candy Store Wallpaper that it became a very exciting fabric to use.
Along with the old thrifted pink satin brocade drape, a large scrap of sheer chiffon curtain was used to make this apron. The hem pocket on the chiffon curtain made the gathers very easy to make and sew down evenly. The yo-yo cameo's are made out of the same satin brocade turned wrong side out and finished with vintage 1942 mother-of-pearl buttons.
The apron ties are made out of the sheer chiffon and the jabot is made out of tulle worked with a corded edge.
The Peppermint Candy Store Apron is destined for a Giveaway, so if you like what you see, then look for my next blog post with entry details. I will be giving away the apron on December 15th, 2009, so it could be a pretty present for yourself or for that apron enthusiast in your life.
